Containing 25% fewer bars than conventional glazed roof lanterns, maximum light entry is guaranteed and fewer bars in the way means you can also enjoy uninterrupted external views. In addition, their aluminium structure has been thermally broken and, when combined with thermally efficient glazing, U-values of 1.1 W/m2k can be achieved.

Tiled roof: For the ultimate in comfortable orangery living, consider a tiled roof orangery. U-values of just 0.16 W/m2k ensure any new orangeries will feel cosy all year without paying out unnecessary amounts in heating costs. The tiles in use are also incredibly durable but virtually maintenance-free. If you don't want to lose too much light, we can also fit full-length panels of glass onto them.

If you’d like any brickwork to be used in the structure, we can match it to your existing property, allowing the orangery to blend seamlessly into its new surroundings. We’re able to conceal the guttering and rafter ends with a stylish cornice too, if you wish. As well as hiding these two things, it will add an element of decoration to the orangery’s exterior. Moreover, you can select which windows and doors are fitted on the structure. One of our more popular door options is bi-folding doors and with good reason; their highly refined designs lend themselves perfectly to an orangery, and they are energy efficient so help the space to feel comfortable all year long.

This insulated ceiling combines with the high-performance roofing and thermally efficient windows and doors, allowing energy efficiency ratings of ‘A’ to be attained. One of the optional features of an orangery from Poole Joinery is super-insulated columns. They can be aluminium cladded, flat or fluted, depending on your style preferences. These columns are also 5 times more thermally efficient than a brick equivalent. This will have a hugely positive impact on the amount of heat that is retained, allowing you to cut costs on your energy bills even further. These columns are also plastered internally, meaning they provide a welcome addition to any orangeries where a feeling of homeliness is especially important. Externally, they will communicate a feeling of grandeur, further adding to the sense of luxury that is associated with orangeries.
